Characteristics of TV Ad's

There are five different characteristics a TV should include;

1. Benefits offered - how is this going to improve your life
2. Advantages over similar products - Why should you buy this product over its competetors?
3. Unique Selling Point (USP) - What does this product do/have that no other product can/has?
4. Lifestyle Appeal - How will this product compliment (match) or enhance (better) the target audiences lifestyle?
5. Brand Identity - how does the advert position the brand, how does it make it look?

I have chosen these two advertisments to analyse:

Benefits offered: In this advert it shows that 'Haribo' sweets are irresistable and you have to eat them becuase they so good, thats why the 'detective' had to come in to make him confess, the reason it would improve you life by having something incredibly tasty to eat.
Advantages over similar products: there are a lot of similar products out similar to 'Haribo's' however beucase of it's brand name, it is very well recognised which would make people want to buy it more, and maybe they like 'Haribo's' sweets better and would like to try the new product.
Unique selling point: well 'Haribo's' do a lot of different flavours in the range of sweets they have, which other sweets similar to these may not have.
Lifestyle Appeal: well they'll be able to eat very tasty treats.
Brand Identity: This brand name is well known for the advertisement, and they work very well on the audiences due to the acknowledgement of the brand, giving it a good reputation.

Benefits offered: In this advert they offer you products that are natural with no chemical, preservatives or articifial colours.
Advantages over similar products: This may be high in the competition as they taste really good as this brand has also been recognised fast and as I mentioned before in the 'Benefits Offered' they have natural ingredients and no chemical which would seem more 'healthier' and more appealing towards the market.
Unique selling point: It is a funny advertisement which also means people will remember it as it is a bit odd to be shouting 'trumpet' randomly.
Lifestyle appeal: It would be a bit more healthier for the market as they do not include bad ingredients, as this owuld make your life much more better becuase you do ot have to worry as much as you would, for example with Haribo's.
Brand Identity: The brand is given a a good name as the sweets are natural and still tasty, and the themes also link together with this.
