Adverts - Style and Form in Television Advertising

style: parodic:

Parody is when you take the mick or just relate and advertisement or either a song (any media) and make another version of it but a funny version or 'taking the micky'.
In this advertisement they are copying the A-team as Mr.T is from the a-team, they have used a violent however funny way of showing the advertisement by throwing snickers at the guy that is showing 'weakness' towards the injury, and eating snickers will make you tought and strong as that is the main message trying to be sent to the audience, i personally think it is for males than females as in all of the snickers adverts that involve M.r T, they are always men peforming.

humorous:

Humorous is obvious as they are made to make you laugh, which would mostly likely make the advert more memorable if it really amuses you. I have chosen this advert as they are promoting a simple shake however they make it funny by having a 'sexy' woman talking in spanish which makes the guy 'excited'. This would be maybe more memorable for people in spain as they can understand the language well.
This advert would be mainly aimed at everyone as anyone can drink that shake however the advertisement itself would be for ages 12+.

surreal:

Surreal is when something is unreal and wouldnt ever happen in a nornal persons daily routine/life. Surreal adverts are mostly the memorable ones as it is un-realistic. i have chosen this panda cheese advert as  a panda appears and breaks your things if you refuse to have it so they are sending a mesage out, saying if you do not buy it the panda will be angry and break your things, this would never ever happen in reality so that makes it surreal also it is humorous because after the panda breaks everything, he pulls the 'puppy dog' eyes and the music accompanies with it to give it more of an effect.
Dramatic:

A dramatic advert is when every single detail is emphazised on how good the product is, for exmaple as i have chosen a waitrose food advert because food adverts are the most dramatised espescially with their music and style of camera. Waitrose have slow moving shots making it more effective by showing army people coming home to waitrose, sending you a message, saying that waitrose food is the best food to come home too, comforting, having slow motion shots cutting the food or eating it makes it more appealings and attractive.

 realist narrative:
Realist narrative is when the audience themselves can relate to the advertisement as in it is likely to happen to you, so i have chosen this advertisment where all the children bring in food maybe for charity and the mother has passed the wrong tin and comes to collect it and pass's a tin of fruits, the message here given is that Kenco Millacano is too good to give away and how the audience can relate to this is simple as some parents may give away something they would not want to by mistake.

Anti realist narrative:

This is the oposite of realist narrative as this is not likley to happen to you in reality. I have chosen this advertisement as this has a stuffed polar bear in the freezer telling you which food to eat (birds eye), this is unrealistic and not likely to happen to you in real life as stuffed polar bears that talk do not exist however this is a good way for advertising food because its a unique idea and the polar bear relates to the advert very well as the brand being advertised, 'Birds Eye' only do frozen foods and a polar bear lives around snow and ice.
Animation:

animations is an advert with any special effect animation characters that have been included. In this advetisement there are lifesize talking M&M's, it can be realistic or unrealistic it does not matter.

 series:

Series is when there is more than one advertisement carried out in a sequence or have had more than one advertisement for the same product. i have chosen green giant as this advet is very well known for selling sweetcorns, it is mainly focused towards adults and children, making them eat more vegatables and to be more healthy.
documentary:

i chose this advert as 'Gok Wan's' shows are mainly like documentaries so having a person that does documentaries, he will present it like one too as he states facts about the activia yoghurt, just like you would do in a documentary. in the advert they have used actors however portrayed them as real people feeling better eating the yoghurt, which sells the product well to the market. A documentary overall is a video, montage or real footage and real peple based on true facts.

talking heads:

This is when a person is viewed close up and its just them on the screen, i have chosen this advert as there is this main guy singing towards the camera and its only his head showing even thought there are a few scenes where it cuts to everyone but it always goes back to the same person towards the end making it a 'talk heads' advert.

stand alone:

This is when a person is presenting the advertisement on their wn forexmaple i have chosen this one as there are no other presenter, selling the product as its only her and they are showing shots of only her, showing the market how good she looks.
